It's hard enough to orchestrate a glitch-free wedding--and now, it appears brides and grooms may have to worry about camera drones plowing into their domes prior to the big day, too.
A photographer at a wedding recently attached a camera to a quadcopter in order to capture some video of a bride and groom being lovey-dovey in a field before their wedding. But his DIY drone ended up hitting the groom in the head. The photog, YouTube user WeddingMan123, wrote of the 47-second video showing the incident:
"This was shot using a DJI phantom and a gopro camera. This was two days before the wedding at their bridal shoot. This happened towards the beginning. I had done one successful fly by and i brought it around for another pass to make sure it was smooth. I underestimated the lift time and it hit the groom on the side of the face."
Guess that's the kind of bad luck they're talking about when they say brides and grooms shouldn't see each other in their ceremonial garb prior to the ceremony. The wannabe drone pilot was bummed to see the groom sustain cuts on his cheek and the side of the face, he wrote. But the groom was a sport about it, and asked the photog to put the video online.
"I have decided to own up to what I did, instead of try to hide it from the world," the photog writes. The only thing left to do now is await his trial for wedding war crimes.
