Officials in the United Arab Emirates are pushing to use more technology in government services, and they've decided to do so by using drones to deliver government documents. What could possibly go wrong?

In addition to the Transformers-meets-FedEx plan, the UAE will also offer a $1 million international prize to anyone who can create a drone that'll improve the quality of life in the country, the Associated Press reports.

The UAE is governed by a few powerful families, AP reports, who use their "vast wealth to deliver cutting-edge state services to keep its citizens content." They'd like to implement the service by early next year.

Maybe this is the jolt Jeff Bezos needs to get his foolproof Amazon drone delivery plan off the ground, so to speak.
